Mommy Wood Mouse

Mommy wood mouse and her 8 babies at 2-3 days old.

Found a mummy wood mouse in our shed along with 8 babies, about 2-3 days old when we found them. I took them in and put them in one of my old hamster cages to keep them safe, was going to wait till the babies were old enough and release them all. Unfortunately the mummy died after a couple of days and I was left with the 8 babies. I bought some kitten milk and some syringes and placed a covered hot water bottle under the cage to keep them warm. Luckily they all survived and are about 3 1/2 weeks old as I type and eating solids, I will be releasing them at the weekend, as long as the weather is nice, into a nice woodland area in the countryside called Bolam Lake.
